The 130 kms. long coastline of
Goa is set on the golden Konkan coast along the Arabian Sea.
Famous for its white sand beaches and mesmeric sunsets, this
state has been renowned as India’s most irresistible
destinations.
The regions easygoing ambience, good food and salubrious
climate make it a popular spot to unwind and enjoy the
simple, undemanding pleasures of life on the beach.
Separated from the rest of India by the jungle covered hills
of Western Ghats, Goa’s heartland and most densely populated
area is the alluvial strip inland from the beaches – a lush
patchwork of paddy field, coconut plantations, white washed
churches and gently meandering rivers.
This city is one of the most dazzling tourist mosaics. Goa
combines Old Portuguese architecture with a history that
abounds in Indian mythology. The unending beaches,
seascapes, mystical hills and green groves make this state
seem almost utopian. A river cruise down the Mandovi river
with a live display of music and dance by folk singers in
traditional Goan costumes is extremely enjoyable.
Goa also has a rich collection of churches. The most famous
ones being the Church of St. Francis of Assisi,
St.Catherine’s Cathedral and Basilica of Bom Jesus. There
are a few other visits such as the ones to The Aguada Fort
and Vasco Da Gama that any visitor must undertake.
There are a vast number of beaches at Goa, each of them
attracting its own different kind of tourists. The Calangute,
Baga, Anjuna, Vagator and Colva beach resorts are the most
frequented ones. As a special attraction, most of these
resorts offer visitors an opportunity to take a crack at
exciting water sports.
The weekly Friday market at Mapusa is a very interesting and
is a must.

structures in Panjim are Panjim Church, Palacio Patriarcal
(Bishop’s Palace) and Palacio Idalcao (the present
Secretariat), built by Adil Shah in 1492. The tour then
