Calcutta, the state capital of West Bengal, is aptly titled ‘The city of joy’. Even today, this city retains much of the splendor of yesteryears, with a presence that is regal, imposing and memorable. The Trams and the Metro rail at Calcutta are exclusive features of this city.

Day – 1 Arrive Kolkata.
Meals Included: None.
Welcome to Kolkata. Reach the International Airport. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Check-In and Overnight.

Day – 2 Kolkata
Meals Included: Breakfast / Lunch.
Breakfast at the hotel. You will begin sightseeing of Kolkata with a visit to the Indian Museum, built in 1875. It is an impressive building in the Italian style of architecture. Continue sightseeing with a visit to the Victoria Memorial Museum, built in Italian Renaissance cum Saracenic style. This British attempt at building a second Taj Mahal, is dedicated to Queen Victoria and houses a fantastic collection of rare memorabilia from Colonial days.

After lunch continue the tour with a drive past tour of Colonial Kolkata. End the day with a visit to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram at Belur Math and a visit to the Dakshineshwar Temple. Overnight in Kolkata.

Day – 3 Kolkata / Next Destination
Meals Included: Breakfast.
After breakfast, visit the Flower Market and Kumartuli to see the studios of clay modelers. This flower market is a 24 hours open whole sale market, as old as the City of Kolkata. Like the flower market Kumartuli is also one of the oldest residential area of the city of Kolkata, with a high concentration of CLAY MODELLERS, known as Kumar. The interesting thing to see during the visit is the making of icons of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, made of bamboo straw and clay, finally decorated with color and cloth.

DURGA PUJA, Kolkata (October)
Durga Puja is one of the largest and most splendid festivals in the country. Community pujas (prayer service) in Bengal are organized in every locality. Families visit each other and spread the communal goodwill. On Bijoya Day (culmination of the festivities), idols of Maa Durga (mother Goddess) are taken in elaborate processions and immersed in the river or sea.
